Break-out treatment

I enjoyed a wonderful weekend break in Norfolk last weekend with my husband for our 2nd anniversary.  We spent Saturday exploring the North Norfolk coast line, and I think the fresh sea air must have been just too much for my city hardened skin, as I woke up on Sunday morning with a horrible breakout.  As I've never really experienced such a bad breakout I wasn't  sure what to do to fix it.  I tried a lot of scratching and poking but that of course just made it worse, so I soon ended up with a red raw chin.

So this is what I did, first a started using the Cane & Austin Acne Treatment Pads twice a day to treat the break out, these lovely little pads contain 5% pharmaceutical grade glycolic and and 2% salicylic acid  The glycolic acid exfoliates and resurfaces the skin, while the salicylic acid fights the spots.  It also contains vitamins A, C, E, COQ10 and anti-oxidants which protect the skin from environmental damage.

I was quite surprised how gentle it was on my skin, while it completely dried out my spots it didn't leave my skin feeling dried out at all, quite the opposite in fact.  And it dried up all the spots in just a few days so overall it was very effective.

I then needed to sort out some dry patches on my chin left behind from the spot treatment, so I used my usual Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, which is actually quite a multi-purpose product as you can use it as a overnight treatment mask and also mix it with your normal moisturiser to make it extra moisturising.  This sorted out the dry patches within a day or two.  And as a final treatment I used Chantecaille's Jasmin and Lily Healing Mask, which is specifically designed to calm red, irritated or even sunburned skin.  And now I'm proud to say my skin is back to normal within just six days.
